The main goal of RTE is to serve initially upcoming markets in Turkey and central Asian countries in the power sector. It handles primarily project development and technical assistance as well as investments in the fields of:
• Geothermal power plants and district heating systems
• Power lines and substations
• Hydro power plants of the medium and smaller size
• Wind power plants
RTE got 5 exploration licenses in East and West Turkey late summer 2008. Preparation and research has already started in the areas.
Owners of RTE today are Rarik Energy Development ltd. (RED) 61,66% shares, EFLA Engineering ltd. 38,34% shares. Both RED and EFLA are headquartered in Iceland.
